What is Carnitine?
Carnitine is a cofactor derived from an amino acid and is responsible for many functions in the body. The primary function of Carnitine is energy production via transporting long-chain triglycerides into the mitochondria. The mitochondria then oxidizes the triglyceride, which produces Adenosine Tri-Phosphate.Â
